		<description>I believe that much of the push for testing comes from the fact that the people pushing had to go through testing, and if it was good enough for them.... The big box store approach to schooling is only a century old, and is worth revisiting. It has done some good for technology and consumerism, as those same 100 years have seen the meteoric rise of both. I don&#039;t know that testing works, but I don&#039;t know much about teaching to begin with, so I don&#039;t have an alternative, I&#039;m afraid.</description>
