Tonight is the start of the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets’ 2009 fall conference, and I, for one, am excited! The conference is a three-day event this time around, held at the Ramada Hotel Stevens Point (formerly The Country Springs Hotel).

    Ramada Hotel Stevens Point
    1501 North Point Dr.
    Stevens Point, WI 54481
    Ph: 715-343-7906

Denise Duhamel and current WI Poet Laureate Marilyn Taylor are are featured speakers on Saturday, and their sessions are sure to be very interesting and lots of fun. On Sunday, Wendy Vardaman and Sarah Busse will be introducing Free Verse magazine’s new incarnation, Verse Wisconsin. In addition, B.J. Best and Charles Nevsimal will be speaking about “Starting Your Own Small Press,” Michael Kriesel will be presenting his “Threesome as Poetic Form,” and yours truly will be leading an exercise in my own “Morph Rhyme Structure: Alphabetic and Transformative.”

Further details are available on the WFOP Web site. Walk-in registrations are welcome!
