Intervallic Verse

Cover of a very old printing of PoeIntervallic Verse is my sporadic mailing list—Intervallic meaning “at intervals,” between other, more important events, so this won’t be a regular interruption for you; Verse referring, of course, to poetry, something I’ve either recently written or read and enjoyed.

Join using the form below. Removing yourself (no questions asked) is just as easy; every mailing includes directions in the footer, along with instructions for recommending someone else to join. Spreading poems is good karma!

Why a mailing list instead of blog entries? Well, on the one hand a mailing list seems somehow more personal (while still protecting your privacy). Also, posting my own poems to a Web space can preclude their publication elsewhere, while sharing them via email doesn’t raise a publisher’s hackles. And posting other people’s poems to a Web space violates their copyright.

Thanks for your interest. Enjoy the poems. Feel free to send feedback—positive or negative. According to Salman Rushdie, “A poet’s job is to name the unnameable, to point at frauds, to start arguments, take sides, shape the world, and stop it going to sleep.” Sometimes that means playing the annoying fool. But fools are meant to be laughed at, too.
