I’ve just learned that both my first and second submissions to Coscom Entertainment‘s upcoming anthology of zombie poems have been accepted! The first is a sonnet involving zombies on ice; the second is an example of a form I seem to have invented, for which my novelist pal (and fellow Alliterate) J. Robert King has suggested the term “morph rhyme.” (I’ve been invited to give a presentation on the form at the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets‘ fall conference this year, by the way, so it’s gaining some legitimacy.)
To preserve the surprise, I won’t say anything more about the pair of poems. However, the editor of the zombie anthology has cleared me to mention that the working title—Poems of the Dead—will be changed soon to Vicious Verses and Reanimated Rhymes: Zany Zombie Poetry for the Undead Head.
As you can see on the Coscom Entertainment site, they’ve not yet closed the submission window, so if you have some zombie verses, now’s the time to submit them.
More news to follow as it becomes available.
