Yesterday, my Nexus 7 (2013 model) bricked. It hung at the Google screen, not even proceeding to the colorful Android X. Trying a factory reboot resulted in multiple “/cache” errors, leading me to think that the internal flash drive is corrupted.
Fortunately, it’s still under warranty, so I’ve packed it off to Texas for repair. In the meantime, I’ll just have to survive with this “ghost arm” feeling of a missing appendage.
Even more fortunately, I’ve a much happier, completely unrelated Nexus topic to occupy my thoughts: the inaugural Nexus Game Fair, June 19-22! This brand-new gaming convention has set out to restore the glory of gaming in downtown Milwaukee, and I’m very much looking forward to it.
As a matter of fact, I’ll be a guest at the convention, along with Jolly Blackburn, Mike Carr, Chris Clark, Bob Coggins, Dave “Zeb” Cook, Jeff Easley, Todd Fisher, Matt Forbeck, Kenneth Hite, Tim Kask, Dave Kenzer, James Lowder, Matt McElroy, Frank Mentzer, Merle Rasmussen, Monica Valentinelli, Jim Ward, Rob Wieland, and Skip Williams.
Besides general hobnobbery, I’ll be running several events (with prizes!) and taking part in a couple of panels. Here’s my schedule; please do sign up or stop by!
