National Motto Reveals Love of God
In 1956, President Eisenhower approved
“In God We Trust” as the US national motto.
In 1960, he ordered the assassination of Patrice
Lumumba, the Congo’s first elected prime minister.
In response, the CIA sent “Joe from Paris”—
a.k.a. Dr. Sidney Gottlieb—with a tube
of poison toothpaste.
Gottlieb, in German, means “God’s Love.”
