To date, I’ve never been much excited about Advent calendars. The idea just seemed a cute way of X-ing off the days until X-mas. One chocolate a day for 31 days.
But at Gamehole Con last week/end, I was gifted this Halloween one, while shopping for dice. (Thanks, Craig!) And I’m hooked. Almost can’t wait to open those last six doors! I get it now. The excited anticipation!
As you can see from the photo below, the dice being revealed fall into four sets: a starry night sky with bat and moon, a blood-dripping black set, transparent mist dice, and wolf in dense fog. Also revealed so far are a d4 stake and a d2 coffin.
You’ll see I also got a magnetic closure coffin box to hold them. (Thanks again, Craig!)
These will be perfect for Petit Louis and his crew in the Dracula’s Get setting of the BNHP rules!
If you’ve never visited the Black Oak Workshop website to view their catalog, you’re missing out on some amazing dice designs. The first one to catch my eye years ago was the six-shooter, with empty cylinders counting down the numbers. And their new “d4 miniatures” design is genius. I’ll let you discover why on your own.
