Nathan Rockwell of Larcenous Designs is crowdfunding a new oracle deck for his GameMasters’ Apprentice line-up, and I’m excited to be involved. Every pledge level in the GMA Kickstarter—including the $1 level—includes not only a brand-new Bookmark HP RPG sourcebookmark for the post-apocalyptic genre, but also the core rules.
As Nathan puts it, “making this a complete rules-lite RPG package for solo and group gaming!”
In case you’re not familiar with the GameMaster’s Apprentice decks, it’s the oracle I use most (as in almost exclusively) for GMless solo and group role-play. Though I continue to experiment with lots of other oracles, GMA is my default. You can see it used in most of my solo YouTube videos.
Nathan is a teacher by day, and you can tell it. During the pandemic, he made the GMA free in PDF and at-cost in print, to help get gamers through the lock-down. And he still offers a free deck for players who can’t afford them.
If you’re a fan of the post-apocalypse genre, give his Kickstarter a look! (You can see its progress in the sidebar.) And tell him I sent you. 🙂
